I am an Associate Professor of Finance at the Montclair State University. I completed my PhD in Financial Economics at the City University of New York in 2012 under the supervision of my advisor Dr. Ozgur Demirtas. My teaching interests are mainly in investments, derivatives, statistics and portfolio management. I have taught many courses in these areas at the undergraduate, MBA and PhD levels.
My research interests are mainly in empirical asset pricing, with a focus on return predictability and the cross section of stock returns in US and international markets. Being part of a collegial business school with a PhD program gave me exposure to many different fields. I have also extended my research in the corporate governance area.
